Indication
  • Glaucoma
  • Raise the seizure threshold to convulsions in CNS
Dose

Dog @ 
5-10 mg/kg PO q8hr (Glaucoma)
4-8 mg/kg PO q8hr (other diuretic uses)

Cat @ 
50 mg (Total dose) IV Once
7 mg/kg PO q8hr 

Cattle, Sheep and Goat @ 
6-8mg/kg IV IM SC

  • Hepatic disease
  • Renal insufficiency
  • Fluid electrolyte imbalance
  • Hyperchloremic acidosis
Adverse Effects
  • Hypokaelemia
  • Hyponatremia
  • Hyperuricosaemia
  • Metabolic acidosis
  • Renal calcus
  • Skin toxicity
  • Allergic reaction
  • Bone marrow depression
