Mucolytic action by distrupting the structure of acid mucopolysaccharide fibres in mucoid sputum and produces viscous mucus

Promotes secretion of sputum liquifying mucus

Done by breaking acid polysaccharide fibrous structure present in sputum

Respiratory distress, Cough due to pneumonia and bronchitis

Cattle, Sheep and Goat

0.2 to 0.5 mg /Kg BW, OD, PO or IM

Dogs

1.6 to 2.4 mg /Kg BID PO

3-15 mg/ dog IM PO BID

Cats

1mg /Kg BW OD PO

3mg/ Cat IM OD

Horse

0.1 to 0.25 mg /Kg OD, IM, PO

Birds

1.5mg/Kg  BID IM, PO, OD

Hypersenstivity or idiosyncratic reaction to bromhexine

Rhinorrhoea
