Action

Bind to specific glucocorticoid receptors

Indication
  • Mastitis (especially endotoxin induced mastitis)
  • Shock
  • Milk fever
  • Anti inflammatory / immunosuppressive effect
  • Adjunctive treatment of bovine ketosis
  • Allevating pain, lameness associated with musculoskeletal conditions
  • Severe toxicity, shock, stress conditions.
Dose

Dose in ml

Cattle and Buffaloes: 5-10ml according to size of the animal and
severity of the conditions.

Horse: 2.5-1Oml.

Small animals: 1ml per 50kg
b.wt. by IM or IA route only.

 

Dose in mg(Total)

Cattle: 10-20 mg Total dose IM OD/BID

Horse: 5-20 mg Total dose IM OD/BID

Cattle - 0.02 mg/kg

Horse - 0.02 mg/kg

Contraindications
  • Systemic fungal infections, administration of IM in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenia
  • GI ulcer patients, diabetes mellitus
  • Downer cow
Adverse Effects
  • Signs of hyperadrenocorticism
  • Hypokalemia
  • Retard growth in young one
  • GI ulcer, pancreatitis, Hepatopathy, renal dysfunction, osteoporosis, laminaitis (horse)
  • Pregnancy
  • Hypersensitivity
