-local D2 antagonism

-Stimulation of muscarinic Ach and 5HT4 receptors.

Indication

Vomiting, Desophagitis,Emptying stomach prior to induction of general anaesthesia. 

 

Dose

Dog, cat - 1 to 2 mg/kg - (IV).

Birds-(0.3-2mg/kg) - IM

Pig - 0.5 - 1mg/ kg - (SC)

Contraindications

GI obstruction, perforation, epileptic patients,

Drug Interaction: Inhibited by Anti muscarinic drugs, and narcotic analgesics.
