  • Animal attacks

Anesthesiology & Pain Management

Our anesthesiology and pain management service works with other specialties in the hospital to provide safe and comfortable sedation and anesthesia for pets during diagnostic and surgical procedures. Using sophisticated tools to monitor your pet under anesthesia, our experts utilize advanced techniques to control pain.

Cardiology

Our veterinary cardiology team diagnoses and treats diseases of the heart and lungs. We use advanced imaging tools and techniques to identify your pet’s specific condition and develop a treatment plan. Cardiology patients have a variety of treatment options, including minimally invasive procedures.

Your pet’s primary veterinarian may refer you to our cardiology service for:

  • Newly diagnosed heart murmur or recent increase in murmur grade (1-6)
  • Episodes of collapse or fainting
  • Irregular breathing or respiratory distress
  • Chronic coughing
  • High or low blood pressure
  • Diagnosed heart failure or heart disease
  • Irregular heart rhythm

Critical Care

Critical care patients come to our hospital due to trauma, the development of an acute life-threatening illness or immediately following major surgery. Our critical care service carefully evaluates each patient and creates a custom monitoring plan by measuring variables such as pulse, heart rate, blood pressure and more.

We are prepared to treat many different types of trauma, including:

  • Sepsis
  • Respiratory distress
  • Blood transfusions

Dermatology

If your pet is suffering from a skin condition or experiencing allergy symptoms, our dermatology team is here to help. Our pet dermatologists have the training to diagnose, manage and treat common and complex skin conditions in pets. We work closely with your pet’s primary veterinarian to create comprehensive care plans for the long-term management of skin complications.

Common conditions we diagnose and treat include:

  • Allergies (both environmental and food-related)
  • Acute and chronic disease of the skin and ears
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Parasitic skin diseases (like mange)
  • Fungal infections (like ringworm)

Diagnostic Imaging

Our radiology service performs many non-invasive and minimally invasive diagnostic procedures. These services allow the specialty clinicians unique, non-invasive opportunities for evaluating various diseases.

Internal Medicine

Veterinary internists are trained to take care of patients who can’t tell them what’s wrong. By using the pet’s history, clinical signs, lab results, imaging studies and other testing, our internal medicine specialists can diagnose severe, chronic illnesses or symptoms that appear suddenly.

We partner closely with the other New York City BluePearl hospitals for our patients' internal medicine needs:

Please call the hospital for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Our Services

Advanced Dentistry

Most pets over the age of three will have some degree of periodontal disease. Dental care is an integral component to your pet’s overall health, comfort, and wellbeing. In addition to routine dental cleanings, we also offer more advanced and complex dental procedures, such as extractions, and x-rays.

Routine and Specialized Soft Tissue and Orthopedic Surgeries

Some pets may develop bone abnormalities or sustain injuries that require surgical intervention. We make every effort possible to ensure a seamless surgical experience so that your pet is comfortable and pain free. Our team is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of safety and comfort. Advanced orthopedic and soft tissue procedures are performed by our partnering board-certified surgeons. Call or email us if you’d like additional information on these specialized surgeons.

Pet Travel

Getting ready to travel with your pet can be a stressful time and navigating each airline and countries’ requirements isn’t always easy. Our USDA accredited doctors and highly experienced client service team will assist you throughout the process to ensure your pet meets all necessary conditions for travel.

Veterinary Rehabilitation Therapy

Veterinary Rehabilitation therapy is instrumental in the recovery of orthopedic and neurologic conditions that affect mobility and cause pain. It also can serve in comfort and mobility for geriatric pets. We have joined forces with the amazing team at Water4Dogs to provide a variety of rehabilitation services and feel incredibly fortunate to have them in our same building.

Digital Radiology, Ultrasound and Endoscopy

Diagnostic imaging is often necessary during the diagnosis and management of complicated cases. Having the right technology and being able to share these images with radiology specialists for further interpretation makes the process more valuable to us and, ultimately, your pet.

Internal Medicine and Hospitalization

We hope our patients stay healthy 365 days a year, but should a situation arise where your pet requires inpatient supportive care, we are here to offer a dedicated team to keep them comfortable and well cared for. We are fortunate to have separate hospitalization wards for both cats and dogs, where each will receive a comfortable space to rest with extra padding, blankets, and love.

Wellness and Preventive Care

Being proactive in your pet’s health care is the best and easiest way to have a positive impact on your pet’s quality of life and longevity. We tailor all our vaccination protocols to fit your pet’s specific needs. We also love sharing nutritional advice, recommendations on preventatives, and other tips to help keep your pet protected.

Integrative Therapies

At Worth Street Veterinary Center, we understand that medical treatments are not one size fits all. That is why we offer a variety of alternative medical therapies like acupuncture, cold laser therapy, herbal remedies and nutritional methods.

AFTER-HOURS EMERGENCY

When our office is closed, all emergency calls are routed to our emergency provider.
