Third generation cephalosporin 

Binds to penicillin binding proteins which inhibit final transpeptidation and cause lysis of bacteria cell wall

Haemorrhagic septicemia, animal black quarters, cystitis, nephritis, meningitis, metritis, mastitis, pyometra, preoperative prophylaxis, post operative care

Small animal @ 10-15 mg/kg IM IV

Large animal @ 5-10 mg/kg IM IV

Penicillin hypersensitive animals

Cause cross resistance in penicillin hypersensitive animals

Inj gardplus (VIRBAC) - 4.5gm vials ( 3000mg cefoperazone + 1500 mg sulbactam)

Cefevel - Inj hug and 2g

Zosul - Inj 1g

Ceftas - SB - Inj 500mg, 2g, 3G and 4.5 g
