Hormonal therapy

Increase the estrogen secretion endogenously 

To induce estrus (heat) or estrus behavior and for long term treatment of urinary in continence in horses

• also used in dogs and cats as mismate treatment to avoid pregnancy

• anovulatory mare:- 2.5 mg of estradiol followed by 1500 mg of progesterone

• For mismating dogs:- 0.02-0.04 mg/kg I'M in dogs within 40 hours of mating 

• cats :- 0.125-0.25 mg/kg I/M

Should use with caution in

• Intact female dogs

• Pregnant or Lactating dogs

• Male dogs and dogs of less then one year of age 

Endometrial hyperplasia 

• pyometra 

• leukopenia 

• thrombocytopenia 

0.5mg, 1mg, 1.5mg or 2mg tablets

• estradiol cypionate 

• ECP pharmica (on cattle)
