Ecbolic

Induces ecbolic action by stimulation of myometrian through alpha receptors, also constriction of vascular smooth muscles.

It lacks vasoconstriction action. 

Post parturition, post abortal uterine atony for explusion of uterine debris.

Induce uterine involution 

Dog- 0.2mg (Total dose) oral,IM,IV.

Methergin - 0.125mg

Injection 

Methergin - 1 ml (0.2mg/ml).
