Binds to penicillin binding proteins which inhibit final transpeptidation and cause lysis of bacteria cell wall
Indication
Haemorrhagic septicemia, animal black quarters, cystitis, nephritis, meningitis, metritis, mastitis, pyometra, preoperative prophylaxis, post operative care
Dose
5-10 mg/kg IV IM SC

Penicillin hypersensitive animals
Adverse Effects
Cause cross resistance in penicillin hypersensitive animals

Mammicef (INTAS) - 10 ml pre-filled syringe (250mg cefoperazone)
Mammitas (INTAS) - 3.5 gm pre-filled syringe (3.5 gm Cefuroxime) - one syringe per quarter every 12 hours for 3-4 times but in chronic cases, 8 times can be infused
Mastiwok ( VETOQUINOL) - 10 ml pre-filled syringe (250 mg)
Mamiprotec (VIRBAC) - pre-filled 10 ml syringe (250 mg cefoperazone)
