Antibiotics (2nd gen. flouroquinolone) 

• Bactericidal
• Interferes with action of DNA gyrase (Topoisomerase II)  which inhibits the replication of bacterial DNA

• Urinary, genital, gastrointestinal tract and soft tissue infections

Cat & dog @ 22mg/kg  12hrs    PO

Birds @ 10 mg/kg Po OD

• In young animal - Cartilage injury
• Animal prone to seizures

• Spontaneous tendon ruptures
• Hepatotoxicity
• Allergic neuropathy
• At high doses, cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
• Arthropathy in young animals
